Tracking follows the footsteps of a person by detecting the ground disturbance and scent left behind. Dogs learn to follow a precise trail over varying terrain, negotiating corners, different surfaces and increasing levels of difficulty on a long line.

Mantrailing is exciting, practical and incredibly rewarding, providing both physical exercise and intense mental stimulation. It is completed on a long line so a good recall is not necessary and it does not require so much precision as tracking as the dog may keep their nose to the ground or lift their head to air scent.
