DISTANCE SAFETY TRAINING WORKSHOP

Getting a dog to resist the urge to do what it wants, when it wants can be very difficult and frustrating for an owner.

On this one day workshop learn how you can teach a dog impulse control and how you can ensure they stop and wait in position until your next request. Using positive training methods to gain reliable and consistent responses from your dog.
What topics do we cover?

Breed and genetic influences
Understanding socialising and ongoing influences
How human behaviour influence your dog
How dogs learn
Timing and reward - the theory of learning
Building a solid 'stop' command on the move
The do's and don'ts of stop and stay training
Understanding the elliptical training system
Establishing control and how to use it effectively around distractions
Build relationship, response and focus with your dog
On and off lead training
What do we do differently?
Unlike many other courses, this course is mostly run outdoors in realistic situations so that you and your dog learn together and can apply what you learn to your daily routine with some distractions.
Requirements

A secure collar with name/council tag
A regular lead
Water bowl

A very good amount and variety of tasty treats
Their favourite toys
Sturdy and ideally waterproof trainers
Waterproof jacket
Warm weather clothing
Poo bags
