Foster, Rehab & Adoption Dogs

Allsorts Dog Training is passionate about helping rescue dogs and dogs that may have behavioural challenges that need expert help. Every year we assist rescue organisations and veterinary practises by offering placements for a variety of puppies and dogs needing special care, behaviour modification and training before being placed in to a home. Dogs are housed on site in our home whilst we work with them to prepare them for forever homes.
We can have over 6 foster dogs in our care at any one time.

We are not a registered charity. We fund their care either personally, through a percentage of booking fees, or by fundraising events. By booking with anything with us you are helping them.

We have fostered pregnant mums, puppies, deaf dogs, aggressive dogs and whole heap more that perhaps may not be ready to find immediate homes.
We do it for the love of dogs as the reward is to see them placed successfully in new homes, however long that takes.
We are not a registered charity and rely on our own funds, generous donations or contributions from our other courses.
If you are interested in making a donation or sponsoring one of our foster dogs please get in touch

You will be required to fill in an Adoption Form so we can find out more about you to see if your are the right match for the dogs in our care.
Meet and greets are essential. Homes visits may be arranged.

Dogs Available for Adoption

Wallace

  • Breed: Cane Corso x
  • Age: 22 months
  • Sex: Male (neutered)
  • Likes: Ball retrieving, swimming, food
  • Dislikes: Unsure of new people
  • Activity Level: Medium
  • Environmental Needs: Lifestyle/Rural
  • Children: Older teens only
  • Cats: Not suitable with cats
  • Other animals: Been living with horses, goats and chickens (not free range). Likes to think hes a sheepdog but really hasn't got a clue, The ball always catches his attention.
  • History: He had a bit of a rough start in a chaotic home. Came in to the foster program as a teenager after being rescued from this unsuitable situation.
  • Personality: He's a big goofball, who once he gets to know you, loves cuddles, attention and playing fetch. He thinks he's a lap dog too, despite his size so if you like your personal space he's not for you.Slobbery at times and has a deep bark to gain your attention or tell you if something new is about. Nervous about unfamiliar things but chooses to move away.
  • Skills: Crate trained, house-trained, travels well in a car, knows sit, wait, drop, come, walks well on a head collar.
  • Experienced required: Large guarding breed dog experience
  • Ongoing Training Requirements:
  • The world beyond his gate can be a little daunting at times for him so living out of town where it's less busy would be preferred or someone willing to take things slowly and gently as he adjusts, but he is improving daily. He is naturally suspicious of people he doesn't know and has a fabulous territorial bark but this will need to be managed correctly to prevent an issues arising in future. With the right introductions he is quite accepting of new people, especially if they throw a ball for him. You will need to continue his ongoing behaviour training - all advice will be given.
  • He is also very motivated by food and learns well with clear, confident guidance. He needs ongoing training and responds really well to positive reinforcement training but still needs clear consistent rules and boundaries as he is very much a teenager.
  • He has been living with a range of other dogs (of all sizes) and lacks awareness of his size sometimes and isn't always keen to share his food so will need the be separated from another dog or contained around mealtimes and food preparation times. He would flourish as an only dog but a female medium - large companion could be possible.

Kora

  • Breed: Deaf Bull Terrier x Cattle Dog
  • Age: 3 years
  • Sex: Female (neutered)
  • Likes: Car rides, adventuring, balls and sofas
  • Dislikes: Being touched by people when not her choice
  • Activity Level: Medium
  • Environmental Needs: Lifestyle/Rural
  • Children: Teens only
  • Cats: Ok with confident cats
  • Other animals: Been living with horses, goats and chickens (not free range). Loves eating and rolling in their poo, Is managed around them for her safety.
  • History: Arrive in foster care as a puppy with her sister. Grew up in foster care on a lifestyle block with other dogs. Trialled in a new home. but the other dog attacked her so she came back in to foster care.
  • Personality: Very savvy and smart and know how to get what she wants. A bit bossy with other dogs at times. Affectionate on her terms and is a bit of a couch potato. But then comes alive on walks. Suspicious of new things and can startle easily because of her lack of hearing.
  • Skills: Crate trained, house-trained, travels well in a car, knows sit, wait, come to hand target, walks well on a collar and lead.
  • Experienced required: Rescue dog experience preferred
  • Ongoing Training Requirements:
  • Kora already has some well established manners but will take time to build a relationship of trust with someone new. She needs positive guidance and clear rules to be the best dog she can be.
  • She will need to be on a long line until you have built a responsive relationship through ongoing training - we will show you what to do.
  • She has been living with a range of other dogs (of all sizes) and could live with a male dog or submissive female dog as she rates herself quite highly.
  • This incredible girl has shown real potential with love, loyalty and fun at the core of her personality. She is a dog with character, and whilst she appears to have some hearing loss that doesn't stop her from living life to the full.
  • She is vaccinated, chipped and spayed. If you are interested please get in touch so we can find out more about you. She will be placed on an initial trial to ensure she is a good fit in her new home. Adoption fees apply.
