Have you got a dog that hates having its nails trimmed or is scared of the vets? Perhaps they struggle to be groomed or handled by you or someone else? Or perhaps you want to learn how to prevent any negative associations from building in the first place?
Dogs are sentient beings and are not born ready to enjoy or cope with the process of being formally handled. Handling is often a regular part of their lives as pet dogs, whether it be at vet appointments and grooming salons, or simply at home trimming nails or inspecting ears. This course is designed to help your dog see value in opting in to the process of being handled, while also giving you some more positive and cooperative ways to go about these processes. REDUCE FEAR AND ANXIETY AND IMPROVE TOLERANCE BY CREATING POSITIVE PREDICTABLE PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOUR LEARN BODY LANGUAGE CUES WILLING INSPECTION OF BODY PARTS CHIN REST TRAINING SUCCESSFUL NAIL TRIMMING VET VISIT PREPARATION SAFETY MUZZLE TRAINING |

This course is designed to work at your dogs pace, and build on their willingness on handling that’s applicable to your real life. Each week we will be teaching you new skills in co-operative handling. You will be required to practise each exercise every day between classes and video your sessions for analysis by our coaches. We recommend you video the exercises each week and your daily training so we can review what you are doing at home so we can aid your progression and tweak any training each week. |
