You will need:
- A treat bag or a jacket with a pocket
- Some of their kibble (if a puppy) or higher value treats if they are older or more fussy
- A clicker or a 'marker' word like "YES"
- You may require a lead initially if you cannot practice in a secure area or your dog is easily distracted
- A heap of enthusiasm and patience as it takes time for the dogs to understand what you want them to do
- Keep sessions short and sweet and finish with success
- Follow each session with a different game like tug or retrieve so they can have 'playtime' after concentrating hard for you
- You can do multiple sessions throughout the day as long as you do not over work your dog
