GERMAN SHEPHERDS WORKSHOP

It can be challenging to get your GSD to pay attention to you when there are distractions and moving things around. They were originally bred to move and control prey.

But how can you put their instincts under control?

In this workshop we'll be training with a select few GSDs who range in age and behaviours so you can watch and observe how we can promote calmness, communication and learning through a thorough understanding of their individual needs and desires. Yes they all may have some common traits but they are also individuals so we'll show you how we can bring out the best in your dog and help you problem solve if your are facing any issues.
What topics do we cover?

GSDs and their original purposes
Nature vs. nurture
How dogs learn
Using natural traits to your advantage
Games to build focus
Problem solving skills
What do we do differently?
Unlike many other courses, this course is mostly run outdoors in realistic situations so that you and your dog learn together and can apply what you learn to your daily routine with some distractions.

This workshop is designed to maximise your ability to learn, understand and ask questions. If you would like us to work with you and your dog afterwards we can arrange private sessions or further workshops.

UPCOMING WORKSHOP DATES

  • Sociable dogs are encouraged to attend as long as they are fully vaccinated
  • If you feel your dog will not cope in a group environment then you can attend at a cheaper rate without your dog. We guarantee you will still gain a lot of knowledge and insight.
  • Please contact us if you are unsure whether your dog would be suitable to attend. If your dog has displayed any unsociable behaviour towards people or other dogs you can attend without your dog so you can still learn and we may direct you to a behaviour consultation or reactive dog program as an alternative.
