It can be challenging having a terrier to focus and listen to you. They were originally bred to be independent and full of confidence to be able to dig and hunt prey.
But how can you put their instincts under control?
In this afternoon workshop we'll be training with a select few terriers who range in age and behaviours so you can watch and observe how we can promote calmness, communication and learning through a thorough understanding of their individual needs and desires. Yes they all may have some common traits but they are also individuals so we'll show you how we can bring out the best in your dog and help you problem solve if your are facing any issues.
What topics do we cover?
Terrier breeds and their original purposes
Nature vs. nurture
How dogs learn
Using natural traits to your advantage
Games to build focus
Problem solving skills
What do we do differently?
Unlike many other courses, this course is mostly run outdoors in realistic situations so that you and your dog learn together and can apply what you learn to your daily routine with some distractions.
This workshop is designed as an observational course to maximise your ability to learn, understand and ask questions. If you would like us to work with you and your dog afterwards we can arrange private sessions or further workshops.
